Workshop Wednesdays

Directions: Students will rank their preference of workshops by filling out the link provided below. Students should choose their top 4 workshops that interested them. Students will only be placed into three workshops. All students must be signed up – no later than 4pm the Monday before their workshop.

*Students who receive specialized services will automatically placed into those workshops.

Block 1

Botany 101 (8 students max)

Replanting our seedlings! Please sign up for this only if you attended the Botany 101 workshop during Saturday Academy! All of our seeds have germinated and need to be replanted into new pots.

Jazz-ercise (Hip-Hop edition)
 Work up a sweat, get your hear pumping, and have fun doing it. In this class we will be doing various body weight exercises, yoga, dance, and explosive movements.

6th Grade Math Office Hours

Come work on HW, POW, make-up work, Medal Rounds

7th Grade Colonial Museum (701 only)
 Time to view the museum and see everyone’s hard work.
 Race – The Jesse Owens Story Part II
 In honor of Black History Month as well as the Olympics, come watch and discuss the second half of the movie Race. Jesse Owens was once the fastest man in the world who had to battle racism at home as well as at the 1936 Berlin Olympics.

 All 8th graders must attend. Please contact myself or Ms. Harmon if you have any questions or concerns.
How to care for natural hair (10 students max)
 Do you have natural hair? Curly or kinky hair? Come and learn the history of our locks! As well as tips on taking care of your hair during this cold winter season.
Student Government 
Students in Student Government is required to attend at least one of these blocks.

This workshop is a crash course into Chinese culture and history! Topics include China’s role in the world, Chinese communities overseas, Chinese pop culture, and Chinese holidays, and Chinese language. Students will also be making their own Chinese lanterns.

Sign up if your grade isn’t where you want it to be in ELA. We will work on additional supports and interventions so that you are better prepared for your task card when you come back from break.
